COMES: the Roman Count
 (pronounced: "KO-mace") 

This is a military command rank of Rome's nobility. A Count of Rome is a Legate (Legion Commander who is both a Senator and a Centurion) who has also served as a Consul of Rome. As with a Legate, they will be referred to as Lord or by their title. A Comes must wear a white cape with a border of gold on purple.
